Dining out in Albany Oregon

Fast Food (looking for a quick bite while you are searching for a new home...here's the list)

• McDonalds (2 here, 1 by I-5 and one on the corner of Queen and Pacific)
• Burger King (2 here, 1 by I-5 and one on Geary near the Heritage Mall)
• Arby's - Geary Plaza at the split of Pacific Blvd and Geary
• Taco Bell - (2 here, 1 by I-5 and one on Pacific Blvd just south of Queen)
• Jack in the Box - Just off Pacific Blvd at Geary
• Del Taco - Across the street from the Heritage Mall
• KFC - Pacific Blvd
• A and W Rootbeer (co-located with KFC), also on Hwy 34 (near I-5) and in North Albany on North Albany Rd.

Good Food You Know (nationally known chains where you can be confident in getting what you expect)

• Applebees -  Across the street from the Heritage Mall
• Red Robin - at the Heritage Mall
• Pizza Hut - at the Heritage Mall
• Denny's - at I-5 and Hwy 20 (near the Home Depot)
• Opening soon - Carino's Italian Grill - we'll have to see how good it is, but the menu looks good (online)
• Elmers Family Restaurant

Samples of Local Dining (it's the stuff I like...or that I have friends that RAVE about)

• PizzAmore - Located on Santiam Hwy, in the parking lot behind Sizzler / BiMart.  Great pizza and other Italian specialities.  This is one of my family's favorites!
• Wyatt's Eatery and Brewhouse - 211 1st Ave (Downtown) - Good food, great beer from a local brewery. 
• Novak's Hungarian Restaurant and Bakery - 2306 Heritage Way SE - A local favorite with lots of personality.  Make sure you meet Papa Joe Novak when you are there!
• Szabo's (formerly Loafer's Bread and Bistro) - 222 Washington St. SW - Everything from sandwiches and quiche at lunch to steaks and seafood for dinner.
• Los Dos Amigos - 2133 Santiam Hwy SE.  Mexican food...mmmm
• AB Chinese - 1121 Pacific Blvd.  Good simple chinese food.
• Ping's Garden - 1206 9th Ave SE.  Good chinese food with a little more upscale atmosphere.
• Sybaris - 442 1st Ave SW (Downtown) - Fine Mediterranean Dining (www.sybarisbistro.com)
• Cafe Venetian - 200 block of 1st Ave (just down the street from Wyatt's) mostly for breakfast and lunch during the week.  Specialty coffee, salads, mini-pizzas with a mediterranean feel.  Home of the downtown Albany KGAL stuido (1580 AM where I broadcase Real Estate Talk from on Saturday mornings)
• Clemenza's - 200 block of 1st Ave (right across the street from the Venetian).  New Italian restaurant from the owners of Sybaris.
